The MT522B1-R1C1 is a 5.7-inch color TFT HMI touch panel from Kollmorgen’s MT500 series, designed for machine-level operator interface and parameter display. It features an Ethernet port for EtherCAT connectivity to AKD servo drives and supports Kollmorgen Visualization software.

Working Principle:
The MT522B1 runs Kollmorgen’s embedded HMI runtime software. The operator interacts via resistive touchscreen. Screen content is configured using Kollmorgen Automation Studio or Visualization software and downloaded via Ethernet or USB. The EtherCAT port allows direct reading/writing of AKD drive parameters (position, velocity, torque, fault codes) without a separate PLC.

Installation Requirements:
- Panel cutout: 153 mm × 119 mm, depth clearance ≥ 45 mm behind panel.
- Power: 24 VDC ±20%; use filtered supply for noise-sensitive environments.
- EtherCAT: Connect directly to AKD drive or EtherCAT network; terminate with 120 Ω resistor at last node.
- RS-485: Terminate with 120 Ω resistor at each end of bus.
- Ground chassis to protective earth: ≤ 0.5 Ω.
Usage Precautions:
- Resistive touchscreen life: 1 million touches minimum — avoid sharp stylus.
- Do not exceed +50°C ambient — LCD performance degrades above this.
- EtherCAT network: Maximum 65,535 nodes; MT522B1 counts as one node.
