Working Principle
- BDS4 series low-voltage servo drive outputs adjustable DC armature current to motor stator winding; mechanical commutator and carbon brush sequentially switch armature current phase to generate rotating magnetic field
- Ferrite permanent magnet rotor interacts with stator rotating magnetic field to produce continuous rotary torque driving miniature mechanical load
- 24 VDC energized brake coil generates electromagnetic suction force to compress internal spring and release friction disc for free shaft rotation; power cut removes electromagnetic force, spring pushes friction disc to lock output shaft mechanically
- PTC thermal sensor embedded inside stator winding transmits resistance temperature signal to servo drive; drive reduces output current or triggers fault stop once winding temperature exceeds safe threshold
- Optimized micro air gap magnetic circuit design suppresses torque ripple to guarantee stable uniform rotation at ultra-low operating speed
Advantage Highlights
- 24 VDC low-voltage operating specification eliminates high-voltage safety protection design requirements for small battery-powered portable equipment
- All-in-one motor with integrated brake reduces mechanical assembly part quantity and fixture design difficulty for miniature automation equipment
- Side-mounted brush replacement access cover greatly shortens on-site maintenance operation time and labor cost
- IP54 dust-proof sealing grade can be installed in semi-open workshop environment without full sealed cabinet protection
- Full compatibility with all BDS4 series low-voltage digital servo drives, one-click auto-tuning without manual parameter input
Applicable Industries
Optical laboratory micro-alignment stages, portable medical testing instruments, desktop electronic component sorting equipment, miniature 3D printing positioning axes, small cosmetic filling machinery, watch precision assembly automation, micro fluid laboratory valve actuators, miniature camera focusing adjustment mechanisms
Installation Requirements
- 42 mm mounting flange surface flatness tolerance ≤ 0.03 mm; uneven mounting surface generates abnormal bearing vibration noise
- Shaft coupling radial misalignment limited to ≤ 0.02 mm; miniature elastic coupling mandatory, rigid direct shaft connection prohibited
- M3 mounting screw tightening torque fixed at 0.6 N·m; over-tightening deforms thin aluminum flange plate
- Brake coil wiring must be separated from motor power cables with shielded twisted pair to avoid PWM current interference causing brake release failure
- Any mounting spatial orientation permitted; vertical downward shaft installation needs auxiliary dust-proof cap to prevent dust accumulation on shaft seal
Operation & Maintenance Precautions
- Cut off both motor armature power and 24 V brake power supply before opening brush access cover to avoid unexpected shaft rotation injury risk
- Replace carbon brush cartridge immediately when residual brush length is less than 2 mm; excessively worn brush scratches copper commutator permanently
- Brake friction disc surface must be kept clean and oil-free; any grease contamination reduces holding torque sharply
- Prohibit continuous operation above +40 °C ambient temperature; long-term high temperature causes ferrite magnet irreversible demagnetization
- Do not extend original wiring harness via random wire splicing; splice points introduce resistance and electromagnetic signal interference faults
