Working Principle

Single/three-phase 230VAC grid AC input rectified to DC bus voltage; analog front-end circuit samples motor resolver feedback signals and external ±10V/pulse motion commands, feeds processed signals to digital DSP core control unit. DSP executes closed-loop vector control algorithm, outputs analog PWM drive signals to IGBT power inverter stage, generating variable-frequency three-phase sinusoidal power to drive DBL/6SM series legacy synchronous servo motors. Built-in braking resistor circuit absorbs regenerative deceleration energy to clamp DC bus voltage within 460VDC maximum rating.

Advantage Highlights

  1. Dedicated resolver feedback hardware eliminates external signal conditioning circuit requirements
  2. Dual analog/pulse command interface compatible with legacy PLC and motion controller hardware platforms
  3. Robust analog front-end design maintains stable operation in heavy industrial high-EMI environments
  4. Standardized mechanical dimensions for drop-in replacement of original ServoStar CD series amplifiers
  5. Wide range compatibility with all Kollmorgen legacy low-voltage synchronous servo motor models

Applicable Industries

Legacy printing converting equipment, vintage CNC metalworking machinery, textile industrial looms, retrofitted packaging automation production lines, web handling film processing machines

Installation Requirements

  1. Mount on standard 19-inch equipment rack or 35 mm DIN rail inside IP54+ sealed electrical cabinet
  2. Maintain minimum 120 mm vertical clearance above drive unit for forced cooling fan airflow exhaust
  3. Separate low-voltage signal wiring and high-current servo power cables by minimum 200 mm distance
  4. Connect dedicated 6mm² copper PE protective earth wire to chassis ground terminal
  5. Resolver feedback wiring must utilize fully shielded twisted pair signal cable assembly

Operation Precautions

  1. Do not operate with AC input supply voltage exceeding 230VAC nominal rating
  2. Regularly inspect internal cooling fan for dust accumulation every 1000 operating hours
  3. Ambient cabinet temperature exceeding 40°C requires 15% continuous power derating
  4. Disconnect main AC power supply before disassembling resolver feedback signal wiring
  5. Allow minimum 12-minute DC bus discharge period post power-off before accessing internal drive power circuitry
