| Terminal Resistance | ~3.2 Ω (phase-to-phase) |
| Motor Weight | Approx. 0.28 kg (stator only) |
| Insulation Class | Class F (155°C) |
Material Composition:
- Stator: M-19 grain-oriented silicon steel, epoxy-potted
- Rotor: NdFeB permanent magnets, nickel-copper-nickel plated
- Lamination Stack: Epoxy-bonded for zero cogging torque
- Bore Surface: Hardened stainless steel sleeve
Structural Features:
- Truly frameless — no housing, no shaft, no bearings
- Stator and rotor supplied as separate components
- Customer integrates into own mechanical structure
- Epoxy-potted stator for environmental sealing
- 8-pole, 12-slot configuration
Working Principle:
Direct-drive torque motor. Stator mounted in customer structure; rotor mounted on customer shaft. Three-phase commutation produces smooth continuous torque. Multi-turn absolute encoder (Hiperface DSL) provides position feedback. No gearbox = zero backlash, zero maintenance.
Key Advantages:
- Zero backlash — direct-drive eliminates mechanical play
- Zero maintenance — no gears, no couplings, no lubrication
- 83mm OD fits standard gimbal/turret bores
- Epoxy-potted stator for harsh environments
- High torque density for frameless design
Applicable Industries:
- Camera gimbals and stabilizers
- Antenna positioning systems
- Medical imaging (CT/MRI gantries)
- Optical scanning mirrors
- Robotic joints (rotary axis)
Installation Requirements:
- Stator must be press-fit or bonded into customer housing
- Bore tolerance: H7 (40mm +0.025/+0.000)
- Rotor must be balanced to G2.5 (ISO 1940)
- Encoder air gap: 0.3mm ± 0.05mm
- Operating temp: -20°C to +80°C (with customer cooling)
Usage Precautions:
- Never operate without rotor installed — stator will overheat in seconds
- Encoder air gap is critical; exceeding 0.5mm causes signal loss
- Do not exceed peak torque for more than 5 seconds
- Customer must provide own bearings and mechanical interface
4. Kollmorgen AKD-P00306-NAS

| Digital I/O | 8 inputs, 4 outputs (24VDC) |
| Analog I/O | ±10V (2 ch), 0–10V (1 ch) |
| Dimensions (W×H×D) | 90 × 112 × 140 mm |
| Weight | Approx. 1.1 kg |
| Cooling | Convection (no fan) |
| Protection Rating | IP20 (chassis mount) |
Material Composition:
- Housing: Aluminum die-cast with powder-coat finish
- PCB: FR-4, conformal coated
- Connectors: M23 industrial-grade
- Power Stage: IGBT modules with integrated freewheeling diodes
Structural Features:
- DIN rail or panel mount
- Single M23 connector for motor + encoder + power + I/O
- LED status indicators (Power, Fault, Ready, Warning)
- Removable terminal block for easy wiring
Working Principle:
DSP-based servo control with three nested loops (current → velocity → position). Field-Oriented Control (FOC) drives three-phase brushless motor. EtherCAT master interface communicates with PLC/motion controller. Position loop compares command vs. encoder feedback; generates velocity command; velocity loop generates current command; current loop drives IGBT inverter.
Key Advantages:
- EtherCAT native — seamless integration with Beckhoff, CODESYS, etc.
- 16 kHz position loop — ultra-high bandwidth for precision motion
- Single-cable motor connection — reduces wiring complexity
- Auto-tuning — identifies motor parameters automatically
- Compact form factor — fits in tight control cabinets
Applicable Industries:
- Machine tools (lathes, mills)
- Packaging machines
- Textile machinery
- Print and convert
- General automation
Installation Requirements:
- Mount on DIN 35mm rail or flat panel with 4× M4 screws
- Torque mounting screws to 2 Nm
- Minimum 25mm clearance above and below for convection cooling
- Ground terminal must connect to chassis ground (< 0.1Ω)
- Motor cable max length: 10m (shielded, twisted pair)
Usage Precautions:
- Do not exceed 325 VDC bus voltage — destroys IGBT stage
- Enable brake control output before releasing mechanical brake
- Ensure encoder cable shield is grounded at drive end only
- Update firmware via Kollmorgen Workbench before commissioning
- NAS variant has NO safety functions — add safety via external relay if required
