Kollmorgen CE03200

Product Introduction:
CE03200 belongs to the discontinued SERVOSTAR CD (Cx03) amplifier family. It is a compact transistor PWM amplifier designed to drive low-to-mid power Kollmorgen brushless servo motors (NEMA 23 class, MT15xx / H-23x families). It accepts 115–230 VAC single- or three-phase mains and closes current, velocity and position loops digitally with encoder or resolver feedback.

Detailed content

Technical Specifications:
  • Supply voltage: 115–230 VAC, 47–63 Hz, 1Φ or 3Φ
  • Continuous output current: 4.3 A RMS (115 V 1Φ) / 2.1 A RMS (115 V 3Φ)
  • Continuous power: 0.31 HP / 231 W
  • Peak current: 9 A RMS
  • PWM switching frequency: 32 kHz
  • Max motor speed: 6000 RPM
  • Stall torque (paired motor): 0.44 Nm continuous / 1.25 Nm peak
  • Feedback supported: 2048 LPR incremental encoder (standard), resolver capable via option
  • Motor frame match: NEMA 23
  • Protection class: IP20 (cabinet mount)
  • Operating temp: 0–45 °C
  • Weight: approx. 1.1 kg
Functional Features:
  • Three-loop digital control (position / velocity / torque)
  • High 32 kHz PWM reduces motor audible noise and current ripple
  • RS-232 service port for parameter upload/download
  • External regenerative resistor support (ERH-26 module)
  • Screw-terminal and mating-connector I/O
Material & Structure:
  • Sheet-steel chassis with formed heatsink sides
  • PCB with DSP + analog front-end
  • Front-mounted status LEDs and rotary dip switches for node/config
Working Principle:
AC mains is rectified to a DC bus, chopped by IGBT half-bridges at 32 kHz, and synthesized into 3-phase sinusoidal current whose amplitude/phase are regulated by the current loop using rotor position from encoder/resolver. Velocity and position loops run on the DSP.
Application Scenarios:
Legacy CNC spindle/index axes, laboratory motion stages, textile feed rolls, small packaging machines, retrofits of 1990s–2000s Kollmorgen NEMA 23 systems.
Installation Requirements:
  • Mount vertically on grounded metal panel inside sealed cabinet
  • Maintain 50 mm top/bottom airflow clearance
  • Separate power and feedback cable routing; shield both ends
  • 24 VDC control supply optional; enable circuit referenced to COM
Usage Notes:
Not compatible with AKD or S300 tuning software. Commutation offset must be set manually if motor feedback is changed. Do not apply 400 VAC.
