Functional Features:

  • Ultra-compact form factor (62 mm diameter) fits in tight spaces
  • Ultra-low rotor inertia (1.5 x 10⁻⁵ kg·m²) enables extremely fast response
  • Low-voltage operation (13 V DC) ideal for battery-powered and low-voltage DC bus systems
  • Sleeve bearing design eliminates brush dust contamination and extends life
  • 1000 CPR encoder provides sufficient resolution for precision velocity control

Material Composition:

  • Stator: Ferrite Magnet Core with Copper Windings
  • Rotor: Silicon Steel Lamination, NdFeB Magnets (N35)
  • Housing: Aluminum Alloy (6061-T6)
  • Shaft: Stainless Steel 303
  • Commutator: Copper-Tin Alloy
  • Brushes: Precious Metal (AuPd), 3 mm x 5 mm x 10 mm

Working Principle:
Low-voltage DC current energizes the stator windings, creating a magnetic field that drives the permanent magnet rotor. The commutator switches winding polarity as the rotor turns, maintaining continuous rotation. The 1000 CPR encoder generates quadrature output signals for velocity and position feedback to the servo drive.

Advantages:

  • Smallest frame in Kollmorgen DC servo lineup — ideal for OEM integration
  • Fastest response in the C-Series (3.5 ms mechanical time constant)
  • Low-voltage compatible (13 V DC) for portable and battery systems
  • Maintenance-free sleeve bearings — no grease, no contamination
  • Lightweight (0.28 kg) reduces moving mass in robotic arms and gimbals

Applicable Industries:

  • Robotic End-Effectors
  • Medical Device Actuators
  • Drone Gimbal Motors
  • Camera Pan/Tilt Systems
  • Portable Automation Equipment

Installation Requirements:

  • Mount using 2 x M3 threaded holes on motor face; torque to 0.8 Nm
  • Use set screw (M3 x 3 mm) to lock shaft to coupling
  • Connect 13 V DC supply with 1.5 mm² minimum cable
  • Do not apply axial load to shaft; maximum 5 N axial force

Usage Notes:

  • Do not exceed 24 V DC; insulation is rated for Class B (130°C)
  • Brush life is approximately 2000 hours at rated load
  • Sleeve bearings are lubricated for life; do not add grease
  • Store in anti-static packaging to prevent ESD damage to encoder
