Kollmorgen BDS5-210-00010-404B-2-020

Product Introduction:
The BDS5 series are compact digital drives primarily for stepping motors but also capable of controlling brushless DC/AC servo motors in indexed or analog mode. The BDS5-210-00010-404B-2-020 is a 240 VAC input, 10 A peak drive with specific I/O and feedback configuration (“404B” = I/O config; “2-020” = firmware/cable option).

Detailed content

Typical Specifications:
  • Input Voltage: 100–240 VAC 1-ph or 208–240 VAC (check label; 210 indicates ~240 V class)
  • Continuous/Peak Current: ~5 A cont. / 10 A peak (depending on step resolution)
  • Step Resolution: microstepping up to 256× (for stepper mode)
  • Control Modes: Step/direction, CW/CCW pulse, ±10 V analog (servo mode on capable variants)
  • Feedback (if servo mode): encoder or resolver (option-dependent)
  • Protection: Over-current, over-voltage, under-voltage, over-temp, stall detection
Features:
  • Compact DIN-rail mountable
  • Auto-tuning for optimum torque/smoothness in stepper mode
  • Built-in regenerative capability (with external resistor option)
  • LED status indicators for faults and enable state
Applications: Indexing tables, XY stages, feeder mechanisms, bottling/capping machines where step motor or small servo is used.
Installation Notes: Use shielded motor cables; set dip-switches or use setup software for current limit and microstep; ensure proper heat sinking or ventilation.
