Kollmorgen B-806-AA-91-TR

Product Overview:
The B-806-AA-91-TR is a high-performance, 3-phase permanent magnet brushless AC servo motor from Kollmorgen’s classic Goldline B family. It is designed for demanding industrial motion control applications requiring high continuous torque, low cogging, and excellent dynamic response. The “-91” suffix typically indicates a specific winding, feedback option (usually resolver or encoder), and connector configuration; “-TR” often denotes a special or tailored resolver/feedback variant.

Detailed content

Key Technical Specifications:
  • Frame Size: B-806 (large frame, approx. 178 mm / 7″ square flange)
  • Rated Power: ~15–21 kW depending on winding (typical for B-806: 15.3–21.7 kW / 20.5–29 HP)
  • Rated Speed: 1500–3000 RPM (model-dependent)
  • Continuous Stall Torque @ 40°C: approx. 109–117 N·m (80–86 lb-ft)
  • Peak Torque: up to 2×–3× continuous rating
  • Supply Voltage: 230/460 VAC (3-phase)
  • Feedback Device: Typically resolver or Hi-Res encoder (AA-91 denotes specific feedback & connector option)
  • Insulation Class: H (180°C)
  • Protection Rating: IP65 (with shaft seal)
  • Cooling: Natural convection / fan-assisted (depending on variant)
  • Shaft: Keyed with or without seal; standard metric or NEMA dimensions
Construction & Materials:
  • Rare-earth Neodymium Iron Boron (NdFeB) permanent magnets
  • Laminated silicon-steel stator core
  • Aluminum alloy housing with corrosion-resistant finish
  • Double-shielded precision ball bearings
  • Built-in thermal protector (thermostat) normally closed/open at ~145°C
Working Principle:
A permanent-magnet rotor is driven by a 3-phase sinusoidal stator current synthesized by a servo drive. Rotor position is fed back via resolver/encoder for commutation and closed-loop position/velocity control.
Installation Notes:
  • Mount on a flat machined face using 4 bolts on the flange pilot
  • Align shaft coupling to avoid side loads > specified radial/thrust limits
  • Use shielded motor power & feedback cables, grounded at one end
  • Ensure DC bus voltage of drive matches motor winding (check nameplate)
Application Areas:
Large CNC machine tools, heavy-duty packaging lines, printing presses, textile machinery, robotic joints with high payload.
