The AKM series is Kollmorgen’s flagship brushless servo motor family offering high torque density, low cogging, and a wide selection of windings, feedback devices, and connector options. The AKM51K frame (Size 51) delivers medium-to-high continuous torque in a compact, thermally optimized housing. This variant includes resolver feedback, smooth shaft, and M23 SpeedTec connectors.

Working Principle:
Three-phase sinusoidal PWM-driven BLDC/PMSM with resolver feedback for closed-loop commutation via a compatible Kollmorgen servo drive (AKD, S700, S400 families).
Installation & Notes:
  • Mount via 4 × M8 bolts on IEC flange; ensure proper grounding via motor PE terminal.
  • Use Kollmorgen mating M23 connectors; tighten to specified torque.
  • Do not disconnect motor phases while drive is powered.
  • Ensure adequate ventilation; check thermal derating above 40 °C.
