Kollmorgen AKM42E-ANC2AAOO
Product Introduction
Mid-stack AKM series brushless servo motor with 84 × 84 mm square flange (NEMA 34 class). High torque density, low cogging, potted stator, neodymium-iron-boron rotor magnets. The “ANC2” segment decodes to AKM size 42, N tolerance flange, smooth shaft, resolver feedback with M23 connector; “AA00” denotes no brake, standard paint, no special shaft seal. Direct mechanical and electrical mate to AKD and S700 drives.

Structural Characteristics
-
Square flange with 4 × M6 mounting holes on 100 mm circle
-
Smooth shaft with optional keyway
-
Resolver mounted on rear endbell, no separate encoder box required
-
Standardized AKM mechanical envelope allows direct swap across AKM42 stacks
Working Principle
Three-phase stator currents create rotating magnetic field; permanent-magnet rotor follows field angle. Resolver produces analog position signals demodulated by drive to obtain electrical angle for commutation. Torque proportional to q-axis current; speed regulated by back-EMF and load balance.
Installation Requirements
-
Flange-mount on machine structure; coupling must be zero-backlash or elastomer type
-
Avoid radial shaft load > 10% of axial rating; use bearing block for belt/pulley
-
Align motor shaft to load within 0.05 mm TIR
-
Use flexible metal conduit or drag-chain rated shielded cable
-
Resolver cable must be separated from power cable if not using dual-shield hybrid
Usage Notes
-
At 480 VAC mains through AKD-P1207, bus ~680 VDC; do not exceed 640 VDC nameplate continuously without derating
-
No brake means vertical axis needs external mechanical hold
-
Resolver version needs drive resolver interface; AKD auto-detects AKM resolver type on first power-up
-
Do not paint over flange grounding surface; ensure flange-to-machine electrical contact
Applications
Rotary indexers, lab automation turntables, filling machine star wheels, medical imaging gantries, light CNC servo axis, packaging gripper rotation.
