Kollmorgen AKM22E-ANSNR-02

Product Name: AKM2 Series Synchronous Permanent-Magnet Servo Motor
Product Introduction:
The AKM22E-ANSNR-02 is a 58 mm flange, two-stack compact brushless AC servo motor from the AKM family. It uses the “E” winding group (mid-voltage, 230 Vac class / 320 Vdc bus capable) and a 2-pole-pair rotor with very low inertia. It is engineered for fast cyclic motion, frequent start-stop, and limited-envelope machine axes. When connected to an AKD drive, the motor is auto-recognized through the resolver/memory pair and full-frequency autotuning is available in Kollmorgen WorkBench.

Functional Features:
  • Low rotor inertia for rapid acceleration and deceleration
  • Low cogging due to skewed stator slots and optimized magnet arc
  • Resolver feedback immune to EMI, dust, and vibration
  • Plug-and-play motor data recognition with AKD and S700 drives
  • Class F insulation allows 100 °C winding rise over 40 °C ambient
  • No hall sensors required; sinusoidal commutation from resolver
Materials and Structure:
  • Black-anodized aluminum housing with integral cooling fins
  • Laminated silicon-steel stator stack, vacuum-impregnated windings
  • Sintered NdFeB permanent magnets on rotor
  • Front bearing: sealed precision ball bearing; rear bearing: shielded ball bearing
  • Stainless steel smooth shaft with axial M3 thread
  • Rotatable connector housing in glass-reinforced thermoplastic
Working Principle:
Three-phase stator currents are generated by the servo drive based on rotor angle from the resolver. The drive executes field-oriented control (FOC) to produce a rotating magnetic field locked 90 electrical degrees ahead of the rotor flux, delivering smooth torque from standstill to maximum speed.
Installation Requirements:
  • Flange mounting on machine side, shaft concentricity ≤ 0.05 mm
  • Coupling must be zero-backlash or elastomeric with misalignment < 0.1 mm
  • Ambient temperature 0–40 °C, non-condensing
  • Motor connector must seat with O-ring seal engaged
  • 24 Vdc brake circuit not present; no brake wiring required
  • Maintain 50 mm clearance around housing for convection
Application Scenarios:
  • Electronics pick-and-place
  • Small packaging machines
  • 3D printing gantries
  • Medical instrument stages
  • Lab automation and optical alignment
Usage Notes:
  • Do not exceed 320 Vdc bus or 230 Vac rms phase voltage
  • Resolver cable must be shielded and separated from power lines
  • At 8000 rpm the continuous torque is derated; use peak torque only for acceleration/deceleration
  • For vertical load holding, select an AKM22 variant with 24 Vdc fail-safe brake
