Kollmorgen AKM12C-ANCNR-00

Product Introduction:
The AKM12C-ANCNR-00 is the 40 mm flange AKM1 frame with stack 2 and “C” winding. It is the smallest standard AKM body and targets ultra-light inertial loads where space, weight, and responsiveness dominate. The C winding is a 320 Vdc bus / 230 Vac class version tuned for moderate speed with higher torque than the B or E windings of the same frame.

Technical Specifications:
  • Frame Size: AKM1 (40 × 40 mm flange, NEMA 17-class)
  • Stack Length: 2
  • Winding Code: C (320 Vdc bus / 230 Vac)
  • Max DC Bus Voltage: 320 Vdc
  • Continuous Stall Torque (100 °C rise): 0.31 Nm
  • Continuous Stall Torque (60 °C rise): 0.248 Nm
  • Continuous Stall Current: 1.51 Arms
  • Peak Torque: 1.08 Nm
  • Peak Current: 6.06 Arms
  • Torque Constant (Kt): 0.207 Nm/Arms
  • Back-EMF Constant (Ke): 13.3 V/krpm
  • Rated Speed (C winding, 320 Vdc): 8000 rpm max mechanical; typical rated 3000–4000 rpm depending on bus
  • Rated Power: 0.23 kW at 320 Vdc bus
  • Rotor Inertia: 0.031 kg·cm² (with resolver)
  • Poles: 6
  • Feedback: Resolver (R), 2-pin
  • Shaft: Smooth shaft with center threaded hole (N)
  • Brake: None
  • Connector: Single rotatable Intercontec-style connector (C)
  • Seal: Standard shaft seal, IP65 shaft end / IP20 rear
  • Insulation: Class F
  • Weight: Approx. 0.49 kg
Functional Features:
  • Extremely low inertia for micro-positioning
  • Resolver survives shock, contamination, and EMI
  • Direct coupling to small ball screws or belt pulleys
  • Auto-commissioning with AKD-P003/P006 class drives
  • Low thermal mass; reaches operating temp quickly
  • No brushes, no halls, maintenance-free
Materials and Structure:
  • Aluminum front and rear end bells
  • Laminated stator with 12-slots, 3-phase star connection
  • NdFeB rotor magnets, epoxy bonded
  • Smooth stainless shaft with M2 center thread
  • Rotatable connector head, IP65 mated
  • Rear resolver cavity potted against moisture
Working Principle:
Identical FOC principle as larger AKM motors: resolver angle drives sinusoidal PWM current injection, producing torque proportional to q-axis current. Because rotor inertia is tiny, the same current produces far higher angular acceleration than AKM2 or AKM4.
Installation Requirements:
  • Flange or bracket mount, shaft radial load ≤ 30 N, axial ≤ 12 N
  • Coupling imbalance must be minimal; flexible coupling preferred
  • Ambient 0–40 °C, avoid direct coolant spray unless IP67 option used
  • 4+4 pin motor connector or M23 pigtail depending on cable style
  • Keep resolver cable away from PWM power lines
Application Scenarios:
  • Optical lens positioning
  • Micro syringe pumps
  • Miniature conveyor indexing
  • Drone/ROV industrial gimbals (non-aero certified)
  • Semiconductor prober stages
  • Laboratory sample handlers
Usage Notes:
  • At 8000 rpm continuous torque is near zero; rated torque applies at 3000–4000 rpm
  • 320 Vdc bus maximum; 24 Vdc control only if used with AKD logic supply
  • No brake option on this suffix; for holding load use AKM12C-ANCNB-xx
  • Resolver version has no absolute multiturn memory; homing required on power-up unless external encoder added
