Kollmorgen AKD-P1207-NBPN-0000R

Product Introduction
AKD-family digital servo drive with onboard position indexer (motion tasking), PROFINET RT fieldbus, internal regenerative resistor, and basic I/O set. “P” in the code = position indexer firmware, “N” after P = PROFINET RT interface, “B” = internal brake resistor, “PN” = PROFINET + no additional option card. The unit is tuned through Kollmorgen WorkBench and pairs natively with AKM motors via automatic motor recognition.

  • Temperature: 0–40 °C no derating; 4% current derating per K from 40 °C to 55 °C
Material and Structure
  • Die-cast aluminum base with steel mounting rails
  • Detachable screw terminals for power, brake, I/O
  • D-sub 9/15 for feedback (X9/X10), RJ45 for PROFINET (X11), RJ45 for service Ethernet (X5/X6)
  • Internal regen resistor mounted to heat sink plate
Working Principle
Similar to S700 but with Ethernet-native architecture: PROFINET RT frames deliver setpoints every 1–4 ms; internal motion controller can execute position tasks without a PLC. Field-oriented control with 1.5 MHz sampling, autotuning wizard identifies motor inductance/resistance and load inertia.
Installation Requirements
  • Panel mount, vertical orientation, 50 mm top/bottom airflow clearance
  • 24 VDC logic supply fused separately
  • Shielded motor cable, 360° shield clamp
  • PROFINET cable Cat5e, separate tray from power if not shielded
  • DC bus sharing possible with other AKD units on identical mains
Usage Notes
  • Do not mistake “P1207” for 120 V class; it is 240–480 V only
  • WorkBench software is mandatory for first commissioning
  • Internal regen resistor handles moderate decel; for frequent heavy braking add external resistor module
  • STO must be wired per AKD safety manual; do not use DO to kill STO
Applications
Cartoner indexers, rotary dial tables, servo press feed, converting roll stands, PROFINET-controlled packaging machines.
