Product Introduction:
The AKD-P04807-NBE is a single-axis PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) servo drive from the AKD product family, rated at 48 A continuous and 7 kW peak power. The “P” denotes PWM output topology. The “NBE” configuration specifies: N = No line filter, B = With brake chopper, E = EtherCAT communication.

Working Principle:
The AKD receives a motion command (position/velocity/torque) via EtherCAT from a master controller (PLC, CNC, motion controller). The internal servo loop (current loop → velocity loop → position loop) runs at 8 kHz. The PWM stage switches IGBTs at 8 kHz to synthesize sinusoidal motor current. The resolver/encoder provides feedback for closed-loop control. The brake chopper activates when DC bus voltage exceeds 410 VDC, dissipating excess energy through an internal resistor.

Installation Requirements:
- Mount vertically on DIN rail or panel with ≥ 100 mm clearance above and below for airflow.
- Input power: 3-phase 200–480 VAC, ≥ 25 A circuit breaker (for 480 VAC).
- Motor cable: Use shielded 3-phase cable, ≤ 5 m recommended (use output reactor for longer runs).
- Encoder cable: Shielded twisted pair; max length 15 m (use line driver for longer).
- Ground drive chassis to protective earth: ≤ 0.1 Ω.
- Ambient airflow: ≥ 1.2 CFM across drive — do not mount in enclosed cabinet without fan.
Usage Precautions:
- Do not operate without heatsink/fan — thermal shutdown at 85°C junction temperature.
- Input line filter (external) required for EMC compliance in EU — configuration “N” means no internal filter.
- Brake chopper dissipates 700 W max — if regenerative energy exceeds this, add external brake resistor.
- Do not exceed 48 A continuous per phase — IGBT thermal limit.
- Firmware must be updated via AKD Workbench before commissioning.
