Kollmorgen AKD-P02406-NBP

Product Introduction: The AKD-P02406-NBP is part of Kollmorgen’s AKD platform — a high-performance Ethernet-based digital servo drive. The “P” denotes the base performance/platform with position indexer; “02406” = 24 A continuous, 480 V class; “N” = no internal shunt/brake resistor; “B” = basic I/O set; “P” = PROFINET (RJ45 X11 connector with 2 LEDs). Compatible with AKM, AKM2G, Goldline, and many third-party servo motors.

Detailed content

  • Technical Specifications:
    • Supply Voltage: 3 × 187 … 528 V AC (nominal 400/480 V AC), 47–63 Hz
    • Control Power: 24 V DC ±15 % (separate terminal for keep-alive)
    • Continuous Output Current: 24 A RMS / phase
    • Peak Output Current: 48 A RMS (up to 3 s typical)
    • Continuous Output Power: 8 kW @ 480 V AC input
    • DC Bus Voltage Range: 270 … 750 V DC (typical)
    • Feedback Supported: Resolver, incremental encoder (A quad B, 5 V / 24 V), sin/cos encoder (Hiperface®, EnDat 2.1/2.2, BiSS-C), SFD (Smart Feedback Device), ComCoder
    • Motion Control: Onboard position indexer (255+ motion tasks), electronic camming via higher-level controller, built-in homing routines, torque/speed/position modes
    • Fieldbus / Network: PROFINET IO (Class B capable on some firmware), RJ45 X11 with 2 status LEDs; cyclic data exchange for setpoint/actual values
    • Digital I/O: 8 × digital inputs (24 V DC sink/source), 3 × digital outputs (24 V DC, floating)
    • Analog I/O: 1 × analog input ±10 V DC (16-bit), 1 × analog monitor output ±10 V DC
    • Safe Torque Off (STO): Terminals provided (meets SIL3 / PL e per EN ISO 13849-1with proper wiring)
    • Regenerative Braking: No internal resistor — requires external shunt resistor if frequent decelerating regen exceeds DC bus absorption
    • Protection Rating: IP20
    • Operating Temp.: 0 … +40 °C (derating above)
    • Dimensions (approx.): H 245 × W 80 × D 210 mm (check specific manual)
    • Cooling: Forced air (internal fan)
    • Commissioning Software: Kollmorgen WorkBench (free PC tool via USB or Ethernet)
  • Features: Sub-microsecond torque loop update (0.67 µs), 62.5 µs velocity loop, 125 µs position loop; autotuning; oscilloscope function in WorkBench; dual feedback ports for dual-loop (linear scale + motor encoder).
  • Applications: Multi-axis machines on PROFINET networks — printing, converting, packaging, web handling, semiconductor, medical imaging gantries.
  • Installation & Notes: Requires 24 V DC control supply independent of main power; use ferrite cores on motor/encoder cables if EMI issues arise; shield must be terminated at both ends (drive end directly to chassis); connect STO terminals per machine safety design; size external shunt resistor based on total regenerated energy.
  • Cautions: Do NOT apply 120/240 V single-phase to 480 V models; verify motor parameters (windings, encoder type) before enabling; ensure proper grounding per EN 60204-1.
