Working Principle

AC mains input power passes internal EMC filter and full-wave rectifier to generate stable 320 VDC internal power bus. Digital dual-core DSP processor executes high-speed current, speed and position control loop algorithms based on EtherCAT motion commands and motor feedback position data. DSP outputs PWM pulse width modulation signals to insulated gate power stage, generating three-phase sinusoidal variable frequency current to drive AKM synchronous servo motor. Dual-channel STO safety circuits cut PWM gate drive signals upon external safety trigger input to remove motor torque instantly without mains power disconnection. Regenerative energy from motor deceleration is either fed back to mains or dissipated via external braking resistor connected to dedicated drive terminals.

Material Composition

  • Drive Enclosure: Black extruded aluminum heat sink chassis, cold-rolled steel front terminal cover
  • Power Semiconductors: Silicon IGBT three-phase bridge power modules
  • Control Core: Dual-core 32-bit floating-point DSP motion processor
  • Circuit Substrate: FR4 high-temperature PCB with lead-free surface mount components
  • Terminal Hardware: Nickel-plated copper screw terminal blocks with PA66 flame-retardant housings

Applicable Industries

PCB assembly automation, semiconductor handling equipment, packaging & filling machinery, laser processing equipment, medical diagnostic automation, multi-axis robotic gantry systems, textile high-speed weaving equipment

Installation Requirements

  1. Vertical mounting only; horizontal mounting prohibited due to impaired heat sink convection airflow
  2. Minimum 20mm vertical clearance above and below drive unit inside electrical cabinet
  3. Cabinet forced cooling fan required if internal cabinet ambient exceeds +40°C operating temperature
  4. EtherCAT network wiring uses CAT5e shielded twisted pair cable with EIA/TIA 568B termination standard
  5. Mains input protective earth wire connected to dedicated chassis ground terminal with 2.5mm² copper conductor
  6. Separate shielded motor power cable and unshielded signal wiring routed in isolated cabinet cable channels

Operation Precautions

  • Continuous full-load operation above +45°C ambient requires 30% output current derating
  • Do not connect AC mains power before completing motor power and feedback cable wiring connections
  • STO safety channel wiring must maintain galvanic isolation from all 24VDC digital I/O circuits
  • Regenerative braking resistor thermal rating must match machine maximum deceleration energy demand
  • Avoid daisy-chain EtherCAT network length exceeding 100 meters total cable run
  • Drive front terminal cover must remain fully closed during powered operation to comply IP20 protection rating
