Kollmorgen AKD-P01207-NBE
Model Number: AKD-P01207-NBE
Product Overview:
The AKD-P01207-NBE is a 1.2 kW (1.6 HP) servo drive from the AKD-P series. The “NBE” suffix indicates EtherCAT + CANopen command interface with BiSS-C single-turn absolute encoder feedback. This is a mid-range drive offering excellent performance at a lower power level.

- DC-Link Capacitors: Film + electrolytic (rated 450 V DC, 105°C)
- Connectors: Screw-terminal, Phoenix Contact 3.5mm and 5.08mm pitch
- PCB: 6-layer FR-4, conformal coated (silicone)
Structural Features:
- Identical mechanical form factor to AKD-P02406-NCP
- DIN rail or panel mount
- Front panel with 4-digit 7-segment display + 4 LEDs
- Top: DC bus terminals (L+, L-, PE)
- Bottom: Motor phase terminals (U, V, W, PE)
- Rear: EtherCAT + I/O signal connector
Working Principle:
Same as AKD-P02406-NCP. The BiSS-C encoder transmits absolute position data via a synchronous serial protocol. The drive’s DSP reads this data every control cycle and uses it for closed-loop position control. The 32 kHz current loop ensures minimal torque ripple.
Advantages & Highlights:
- BiSS-C offers higher resolution than EnDat 2.2 at lower cost
- Identical form factor to higher-power AKD-P drives — easy upgrade path
- Excellent cost-to-performance ratio at 1.2 kW
- Full AKD feature set at every power level
Applicable Industries:
- Conveyor systems
- Light robotics (SCARA, delta)
- Textile machines (spindles, tension control)
- Food and beverage packaging
- Medical lab automation
Installation Requirements:
- Same as AKD-P02406-NCP
- For BiSS-C: use shielded twisted pair cable, max 20m recommended
- Terminate BiSS-C line with 120Ω at drive end only
Usage Notes:
- BiSS-C is daisy-chain capable — multiple encoders on one line (up to 31 devices)
- Do not mix BiSS-C with EnDat on the same drive
- Verify encoder resolution setting in Workbench matches actual encoder
- Enable “Position Following Error” limit to protect mechanics
