Operating Principle:
The AKD-M uses Field-Oriented Control (FOC) with Space Vector Modulation (SVM) at 16 kHz switching frequency. The drive’s DSP executes three nested control loops at high update rates. The position loop generates a velocity command, the velocity loop generates a torque command, and the torque loop controls the IGBT inverter output. For the SIL3 safety functions, a redundant safety processor monitors the main control path and can trigger Safe Torque Off (STO) within 10 ms of fault detection.
