Honeywell CC-PAIX01

Product Overview: The CC-PAIX01 (part number 51405038-275) is a 16-channel high-level analog input module for Honeywell Experion PKS Series C distributed control systems. It accepts current and voltage inputs from field transmitters and sensors, converting analog signals into digital values for controller processing. The CC-PAIX01 is a non-HART module; for HART support, use CC-PAIH01 or CC-PAIH02. It has been largely superseded by the enhanced CC-PAIX02.

Detailed content

Key Technical Specifications:
  • Model: CC-PAIX01
  • Part Number: 51405038-275
  • Type: 16-Channel High-Level Analog Input Module
  • Channels: 16 (12 single-ended, 4 differential on channels 13–16)
  • Input Types: Voltage, current (2-wire or self-powered transmitters)
  • Input Ranges: 0–5 V, 1–5 V, 0.4–2 V, 4–20 mA (via 250Ω)
  • A/D Resolution: 16 bits
  • Hardware Accuracy: ±0.075% FS (23.5°C); ±0.15% FS (0–60°C)
  • Input Scan Rate: 50 ms
  • CMRR: 70 dB (DC to 60 Hz)
  • NMRR: 19 dB (at 60 Hz)
  • Input Impedance: >10 MΩ (voltage inputs, powered)
  • Common Mode Voltage: -6 to +5 V peak (DC to 60 Hz)
  • Crosstalk: -60 dB (channel-to-channel, DC to 60 Hz)
  • Power Supply: 24 VDC (backplane)
  • Weight: 1000 g
  • HART Support: No
  • Optional Redundancy: Yes (via compatible redundant IOTA)
Difference from CC-PAIX02: The CC-PAIX01 supports differential inputs only on channels 13–16, whereas the CC-PAIX02 supports differential on all 16 channels. For new installations, CC-PAIX02 is recommended for enhanced differential input capability.
Functional Features:
  • 16-bit resolution for accurate signal conversion
  • Supports 4–20 mA, 0–5 V, 1–5 V, and 0.4–2 V input ranges
  • Built-in diagnostics and open wire detection
  • Non-incendive field power support
  • Fast loop scan capability
Working Principle: Identical architecture to CC-PAIX02, with the limitation that only the upper 4 channels (13–16) benefit from differential input noise rejection. The module digitizes signals and transfers them to the C300 controller via the Series C backplane.
Application Scenarios: Legacy high-level analog input applications in Experion PKS systems; retrofit and replacement scenarios where existing system BOM specifies CC-PAIX01.
Installation & Usage Notes:
  • Verify channel count (8 vs. 16) and differential capability against your specific system BOM before procurement.
  • Install on a compatible Series C IOTA (non-redundant: CC-TAIX01, CC-GAIX21, CC-TAID01; redundant: CC-TAIX11, CC-GAIX11, CC-TAID11).
  • Use proper shielded wiring and grounding practices.
  • For new installations, consider CC-PAIX02 for enhanced differential input capability.
