GE IS200VAICH1C

Product Name: Mark VI Analog Input/Output (VAIC) Processor Board
Product Introduction: The IS200VAICH1C is a final-version VME analog input/output board for GE’s Mark VI Speedtronic gas and steam turbine control system. It accepts 20 analog inputs, controls 4 analog outputs, and supports both simplex and triple modular redundant (TMR) configurations.

  • Mounting: VME rack plug-in card
Noise Suppression: First 10 circuits (J3) use single-pole hardware filter (break at 500 rad/s); second 10 circuits (J4) use two-pole hardware filter (breaks at 72 and 500 rad/s). Software filter: configurable two-pole low-pass, options 0, 0.75, 1.5, 3, 6, 12 Hz.
Common Mode Rejection: AC CMR 60 dB @ 60 Hz (common mode voltage up to ±5 V); DC CMR 80 dB (common mode voltage -5 to +7 V peak).
Working Principle: The VAIC converts analog inputs to digital values and transfers them over the VME backplane to the VCMI board, then to the controller. For outputs, the VAIC converts digital values to analog currents and drives them through the terminal board into the customer circuit. In TMR configurations, three VAICs drive together with the output being the median value; a failed board is automatically disconnected.
Fault Detection: Input out-of-limits, output anomalies, relay faults, TMR signal deviation, ID chip mismatch. Front panel LEDs: RUN (green flash), FAIL (red steady), STATUS (orange steady for alarm).
Compatible Terminal Boards: TBAIH1B or earlier, or any revision of DTAI terminal boards (NOT compatible with TBAIH1C or STAI).
Application Scenarios: Mark VI gas turbine and steam turbine control systems. The firmware includes gas turbine compressor stall detection running at 200 Hz sampling rate, monitoring compressor discharge pressure (PS3) and its rate of change (dPS3/dt) to trigger shutdown signals.
Installation Requirements: When replacing a board, verify the model number matches and update the configuration file (tre file) to match the firmware version. The ID chip on the board stores board type and revision information read by the system.
Usage Precautions: In TMR systems, output is the median of three VAICs; a failed board is automatically removed from the output. Compatible terminal boards are strictly limited to TBAIH1B or earlier, or DTAI revisions.
