Functional Features: Thermal-magnetic trip unit provides inverse-time overcurrent (thermal) protection and instantaneous short-circuit (magnetic) protection. Trip current adjustable via knob (0.7×–1.0× rating). Supports front or rear wiring. Optional shunt-trip interface for remote opening. Front-panel ON/OFF/TRIP handle with trip indication.
Performance Parameters:
  • Thermal Trip: < 2 h at 1.5×In (cold); 2–8 s at 6×In
  • Magnetic Trip: Adjustable 5×–10×In (typical 8×In); < 20 ms at 10×In
Structural Features: DIN-rail or screw-fix mounting; transparent protective cover (optional) over the front panel to prevent accidental contact with live parts.
Working Principle: During normal operation, current flows through the contacts and thermal-magnetic trip unit. When current exceeds the thermal trip setting, the bimetallic strip bends from heat and triggers the mechanical release for a time-delayed opening. When a short-circuit occurs, the electromagnetic coil generates a high instantaneous force that immediately releases the mechanism, clearing the fault in < 20 ms.
Application Scenarios: Overload and short-circuit protection in low-voltage AC distribution panels and Motor Control Centers (MCC).
Installation Requirements: Mount on 35 mm DIN rail or via screw fixing. Verify the trip current setting matches the circuit design. Ensure proper torque on terminal connections. Provide adequate clearances for ventilation.
Usage Notes: Do not exceed rated voltage (250 VAC per primary documentation, up to 600 VAC per alternative listing — confirm rating by the unit’s nameplate). Perform periodic inspection of contact wear. De-energize the circuit fully before any maintenance. Observe proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when operating.
