GE CR215GH12 + CR215GFE
Product Name
GE CR215GH12 Base Assembly with CR215GFE Switch Module
Product Introduction
CR215GH12 combined with CR215GFE forms a modular industrial switching assembly used for machine position detection, limit supervision and control-circuit feedback. The CR215GH12 provides the base housing, terminals and mechanical interface, while the CR215GFE provides the replaceable contact and actuator switching element.
Detailed content
Technical Specifications
Electrical rating depends on the ordered CR215 configuration; documented industrial versions support AC control-circuit voltage classes up to 600 V AC for selected limit-switch builds. Contact arrangement includes normally open and normally closed contacts according to the CR215GFE element configuration. Mechanical dimensions approximately 110 mm height, 65 mm width and 55 mm depth. Weight approximately 272 g for the combined assembly. Ingress protection IP65 for documented enclosed industrial versions. Standards include IEC 60947-5-1, UL 508 and CE marking where specified by the order code.
Functional Features
Modular base and insert design allows replacement of the CR215GFE contact element without rewiring the entire CR215GH12 base. Status indication provides visual confirmation of actuator position or contact state. Normally open and normally closed outputs support safety interlocks, travel limits, press control, conveyor positioning and panel feedback. Rugged enclosure resists dust, water spray, oil and mechanical impact in factory environments.
Materials And Structure
Molded thermoplastic or thermoset enclosure with industrial-grade sealing gasket. Metal or reinforced actuator head according to limit-switch style. Screw terminals or pinned contacts for base wiring. Removable CR215GFE cartridge with silver or gold-flash contact surfaces depending on load type and lifecycle requirement.
Working Principle
Mechanical actuation moves the CR215GFE internal lever, plunger or roller mechanism and changes the state of the contact springs. Normally open contacts close when the actuator reaches the set position; normally closed contacts open at the same event. The base transmits field wiring to the contact cartridge and isolates the operator interface from the controlled load. Output signals inform the controller that a machine slide, door, press ram, valve or conveyor element has reached its defined limit.
Installation Requirements
Mount the CR215GH12 base on a flat panel, machine frame or bracket with sufficient clearance for actuator travel. Select actuator type, head orientation and CR215GFE contact cartridge according to the movement direction and switching frequency. Use conductors sized for the control-circuit current and torque terminal screws to the GE wiring specification. Separate low-voltage signal wiring from high-power feeders where electromagnetic interference or inductive transients are present.
Usage Precautions
Confirm the exact CR215 order suffix because voltage rating, contact count, actuator style and enclosure class differ between versions. De-energize the control circuit before replacing the CR215GFE cartridge. Inspect seals, actuator wear and terminal tightness periodically in vibrating, washdown or outdoor duty. Do not exceed the rated AC control voltage, switching current or operating temperature of the installed cartridge. Replace only with the same CR215GFE contact element to retain certified safety and performance parameters.
