GE 9F60HMH100NSNBC01

Product Name: GE / Mersen 9F60 Series Medium-Voltage E-Rated Power Fuse
Product Introduction: The 9F60HMH100 (base type for the NSNBC01 variant) is a 15.5 kV, 100 A, E-rated, ferrule-mount medium-voltage power fuse in the GE 9F60 family. It is designed for the overload and short-circuit protection of transformers and distribution lines. The fuse is current-limiting — it melts at a current as low as 1.7 × the fuse’s continuous rating, up to its maximum interrupting rating.

Detailed content

Technical Specifications:
  • Manufacturer: General Electric (with the 9F60HMH100 base type also supplied by Mersen as an equivalent Amp-Trap®)
  • Series: 9F60, HMH type

  • Max Interrupting Rating: 50 kA (I1)
  • Indication System: Visual indicator (blown-fuse indicator)
  • Connection Terminal: Silver-plated copper ferrule
  • Body / Insulating Material: Epoxy
  • Dimensions (Mersen 9F60HMH100 equivalent): 479.6 mm L × 156.5 mm H × 76.2 mm W
  • Product Weight: 9.07 kg (20 lb)
  • Standards / Approvals: UL listed; RoHS and REACH compliant
Functional Features:
  • Current-limiting action for superior equipment protection
  • Withstands transformer magnetizing inrush current without nuisance blowing
  • Visual blown-fuse indicator gives positive identification of an open fuse
  • Non-venting for silent operation
  • Ferrule mounting for standard clips and interchangeability with other brands
Working Principle: When the current through the fuse exceeds approximately 1.7 × the 100 A continuous rating, the fuse element melts and clears the fault well before the first peak of the prospective short-circuit current. The current-limiting action restricts the let-through energy (I²t) to a fraction of what an unprotected circuit would experience, thereby protecting downstream transformers and distribution equipment.
Application Scenarios: Protection of 12 kV to 15.5 kV distribution transformers and distribution lines in substations and industrial power systems.
Installation Requirements:
  • Install in compatible spring-reinforced ferrule clip mounts sized for size-DD double-barrel fuses
  • Ensure the mounting clips are rated for 15.5 kV service
  • Verify the fuse’s 100 A rating matches the protected transformer’s primary full-load current and the system’s fault duty does not exceed 50 kA
Usage Precautions:
  • De-energize and discharge the circuit completely before handling
  • Visually confirm the blown-fuse indicator before replacing — a blown fuse must be replaced with the identical catalog number
  • Do not exceed the 15.5 kV rated voltage or the 50 kA interrupting rating
  • Handle as a heavy (9+ kg) component; use proper lifting and handling equipment
