GE 8102-HO-IP
Product Name
PAC8000 eight-channel single-ended HART analog output module.
Introduction
This module converts digital commands from the PAC8000 backplane into standard 4 to 20 milliamp analog output signals for valves, actuators and HART field instruments. It provides bidirectional HART communication for remote configuration and diagnostics.
Detailed content
Technical Specifications
Eight independent single-ended output channels. Nominal output is 4 to 20 milliamps DC. Full hardware range is 1 to 23 milliamps DC. Resolution is 12 bits per channel. Output update cycle is 20 milliseconds per channel. HART update cycle is 0.75 seconds per channel. Backplane supply is 24 volts DC with 150 milliamps nominal current. Field loop supply is 24 volts DC with maximum 300 milliamps total for all channels. Channel-to-backplane isolation is 100 volts AC. Open-circuit detection threshold is 0.7 milliamps plus or minus 0.25 milliamps.
Functional Features
Native HART pass-through, independent DAC and loop driver per channel, front-panel LED per channel, green normal status and red fault status, non-incendive field circuit design, and hot-swap support on compatible PAC8000 carriers.
Application Scenarios
Used in distributed process control for chemical, oil and gas, power, water treatment and industrial automation systems that require analog valve control and smart instrument communication.
Performance Parameters
Operating temperature is minus 40 to plus 70 degrees Celsius. Storage temperature is minus 45 to plus 85 degrees Celsius. Humidity is 5 to 95 percent non-condensing. Dimensions are 263 millimeters long, 58 millimeters wide and 28 millimeters high. Weight is approximately 1.0 kilogram. Protection rating is IP20.
Material Composition
Industrial PCB, DAC integrated circuits, HART modem circuitry, isolated output drivers, LED indicators and molded enclosure materials suitable for control cabinet installation.
Structural Characteristics
PAC8000 carrier-mounted I/O module with backplane connector, eight output terminals, per-channel LEDs and HART communication components. Designed for DIN or rack carrier installation.
Working Principle
The backplane sends digital output values to each channel DAC. The DAC generates a proportional 4 to 20 milliamp loop current. The HART modem superimposes digital communication on the same loop, allowing the host system to read instrument data, write parameters and receive diagnostic alarms.
Installation Requirements
Install on a compatible PAC8000 carrier with 24 volts DC backplane power. Verify field loop polarity and current budget. Confirm hazardous-area certification requirements before installation. Use designated carrier base for hot-swap if supported.
Usage Precautions
Do not exceed 300 milliamps total field power for all eight channels. Confirm isolation ratings before connecting external circuits. Avoid corrosive sulfur or acid environments. Test open-circuit alarms after commissioning. Follow Class I Division 2 or ATEX Zone 2 rules where certified.
