Working Principle
Low-level analog or digital sensor signals are conditioned, converted into modulated optical pulses and launched through multimode fiber. The receiving module demodulates the light back into electrical form for rack processing, alarm logic and trending.
Installation Requirements
- Use matched multimode fiber, ST connectors and approved Bently cabling
- Provide stable 24 VDC with correct polarity and overcurrent protection
- Avoid sharp bends, tensile stress and unsupported optical jumps
- Verify compatibility with 3500, 3300 or designated communication hardware
Usage Precautions
- Inspect and clean ST connectors with proper optical-grade materials only
- Do not look directly into the optical port during transmission
- Check received signal strength after installation and after any fiber reconnection
- Replace fiber only with same core/cladding specification approved for the system
