Housing: industrial molded plastic embedded PC case
Heat sink where required: aluminum passive cooling element
PCB: multilayer FR4 industrial board
K-Bus and Ethernet connectors: insulated housings with metal contacts
Structural Characteristics:
Compact DIN-rail mountable CX CPU module
Front diagnostic LEDs for power, LAN, K-Bus and flash access
RJ45 Ethernet ports on the module front or system face
PC/104 or internal system bus stacking according to CX9000 configuration
No DVI/USB in the 1001 configuration; visualization is handled via Ethernet HMI
Working Principle:
The controller boots Windows CE and TwinCAT from internal flash, loads the PLC project into RAM, scans K-Bus terminals through the I/O DPRAM, executes control logic, writes outputs and exchanges data over Ethernet. NOVRAM stores retained variables across power cycles, while the battery-backed clock provides timestamps.
Installation Requirements:
Mount on a 35 mm DIN rail or in a CX system carrier inside an IP20 cabinet
Supply 24 V DC with appropriate fusing and proper earth grounding
Connect K-Bus Bus Terminals in the supported chain order
Reserve ventilation space and avoid enclosed non-ventilated compartments
Usage Precautions:
Do not install DVI/USB peripherals not supported by the 1001 variant
Backup the TwinCAT project and flash image before firmware changes
Avoid electrostatic contact with K-Bus connectors and terminal rows
Keep ambient temperature within 0 °C to +55 °C and humidity below 95% condensing
