BECKHOFF CX1500-M310
Product Name:
BECKHOFF CX1500-M310 PROFIBUS DP Master Fieldbus Module
Overview:
CX1500-M310 is a single-channel PROFIBUS master interface for Beckhoff CX embedded PC systems. It connects the CX CPU with PROFIBUS DP/DP-V1/DP-V2 slaves and can operate as a deterministic fieldbus gateway within mixed bus architectures.

Intelligent PROFIBUS-to-Ethernet or other fieldbus gateway function in CX stacks
Performance Parameters:
Deterministic cyclic data exchange according to PROFIBUS DP timing
DPRAM buffer communication between CX CPU and PROFIBUS controller
Slave data volume limited by PROFIBUS frame size and configured addresses
Full 125-slave network support subject to bus speed and topology
Material Composition:
Housing: industrial molded plastic fieldbus module case
D-sub connector: metal-shielded 9-pin PROFIBUS interface
PCB: multilayer FR4 with PC/104 interface contacts
Heat dissipation: passive convection without fan
Structural Characteristics:
Compact CX fieldbus module for PC/104 stacking
Front 9-pin D-sub PROFIBUS port and status access
Side PC/104 interfaces for connection to CX CPU/power modules
Narrow 38 mm width for dense CX system stacks
Working Principle:
The module connects to the CX CPU through the PC/104 ISA bus and DPRAM. TwinCAT configures slave parameters, addresses and cycle times. The PROFIBUS controller serializes cyclic and acyclic data over the D-sub interface, exchanges I/O with up to 125 slaves, and returns diagnostic information to the CPU.
Installation Requirements:
Stack on a PC/104-compatible CX system with TwinCAT 2 support
Set PROFIBUS address, baud rate and topology before network startup
Use shielded PROFIBUS cable and proper bus termination at both ends
Install within an IP20 control cabinet with adequate spacing
Usage Precautions:
Confirm all slaves use matching baud rate and bus polarity
Do not operate without proper 9.6 kbaud-12 Mbaud cable rating
Verify DPRAM address settings when combining multiple CX1500 modules
Replace or configure only with TwinCAT-supported driver and firmware versions
