Atlas Copco TC52SM

Product Series: TC Series — Diesel-Driven Portable Compressors (SM = Standard/Medium High Pressure)

Product Introduction:
The TC52SM is a diesel-driven portable screw air compressor delivering higher working pressure than the standard TC52 series. The “SM” designation indicates the high-pressure configuration optimized for demanding tools and applications requiring 174 psi (12 bar) output.

Material Composition:

  • Frame: Reinforced high-tensile steel chassis
  • Air End: Heavy-duty cast iron housing rated for 12 bar continuous operation
  • Cooler: Oversized aluminum brazed plate heat exchanger
  • Hoses/Fittings: Rated for 12 bar (174 psi) working pressure — SAE 100R2AT compliant

Structural Features:

  • Standard acoustic enclosure (non-Super Silent)
  • Reinforced axle for high-pressure operational loads
  • High-pressure rated discharge coupling (12 bar / 174 psi)
  • Full-width tow bar with hydraulic brake system

Working Principle:
Identical two-stage compression principle as the TC52S, but the air end and all downstream components (cooler, separator, hoses, couplers) are rated for 12 bar (174 psi) continuous operation. The Elektronikon controller modulates engine speed and air-end load to maintain constant 12 bar discharge pressure regardless of demand fluctuations. The aftercooler is upsized to handle the additional thermal load generated by higher compression ratios.

Key Advantages:

  • 174 psi (12 bar) output eliminates need for secondary booster compressors
  • Direct compatibility with high-pressure rock drills, impact wrenches, and grouting equipment
  • Cat C4.4 engine provides consistent power delivery at elevated pressure
  • Single-machine solution reduces rental fleet complexity

Applicable Industries:
Rock drilling, tunneling, heavy demolition, grouting, high-pressure blasting, offshore support

Installation Requirements:

  • All connected tools and hoses must be rated for minimum 12 bar (174 psi)
  • Verify all quick-connect couplings are locked and safety-pinned before operation
  • Level surface with 14,000 lbs (6,350 kg) load rating
  • Ensure 3 ft (1 m) clearance for cooling airflow

Usage Notes:

  • Never operate tools rated below 12 bar on this unit — risk of equipment damage
  • Check high-pressure hose condition every 100 hours; replace at first sign of abrasion or swelling
  • Oil change interval: 250 hours initial, then every 500 hours
  • Coolant flush required every 2,000 hours or 12 months, whichever comes first
