Atlas Copco TC52S-N-4240-0440-81
Product Series: TC Series — Standard Efficiency (S) Line
Product Introduction:
The TC52S-N is a fixed-speed, oil-injected rotary screw air compressor from Atlas Copco’s TC Standard range. The “N” suffix denotes the unit is supplied without an integrated air dryer. The “4240” indicates a free air delivery of 42.4 m³/min, and “0440” specifies a maximum working pressure of 40 bar. The “81” voltage code represents 400V / 50Hz / 3-phase electrical supply.

Material Composition:
- Rotor Housing: Cast iron (GG25 grey cast iron)
- Rotors: High-grade alloy steel (special atomized steel, 50 HRC hardness)
- Oil Separator Element: Glass fiber coalescing media
- Cooler: Aluminum plate-fin heat exchanger
- Tank/Receiver: Carbon steel (S235JR), epoxy-coated interior
Structural Features:
- Fully enclosed sound-attenuated canopy
- Belt-driven or direct-coupled configuration (factory-set)
- Vibration-isolated mounting feet
- Integrated inlet air filter with dust separator
- Minimum pressure valve and safety valve fitted as standard
Working Principle:
Two intermeshing helical rotors trap air at the inlet and compress it along the rotor length. Oil is injected into the compression chamber for sealing, cooling, and lubrication. The compressed air-oil mixture passes through an oil separator where oil is removed to ≤3 ppm. The air then exits through the minimum pressure valve.
Key Advantages:
- Proven reliability with over 50 years of TC series production
- Low total cost of ownership for continuous full-load applications
- Elektronikon Mk5 controller provides full monitoring and remote connectivity (Elektronikon Connect ready)
- Easy access to all service points from the front
Applicable Industries:
Manufacturing, automotive, food & beverage, pharmaceuticals, general industrial production, textile, printing, plastics.
Installation Requirements:
- Indoor installation with adequate ventilation (minimum 1.5 m clearance on all sides)
- Ambient temperature: 0°C to +45°C
- Floor must support minimum 1,200 kg static load
- Electrical supply: 400V/50Hz/3-phase, 100A circuit breaker recommended
- Condensate drain connection to floor drain required
Usage Notes:
- No integrated dryer included — a separate refrigerated or desiccant dryer must be installed downstream
- Oil change interval: 4,000 hours or 1 year (whichever comes first) using Atlas Copco Roto-Inject Fluid
- Air filter element replacement: every 4,000 hours
- Oil separator element: every 4,000 hours
