  • Protection Rating: IP54 (controller), IP67 (EIP connector)

Functional Features:

  • All TC52S functions (torque + angle, 3-step program)
  • EIP adds: 8 digital inputs, 4 digital outputs, 2 analog outputs (0–10 V)
  • Real-time data streaming to PLC/SCADA via Ethernet
  • Remote parameter change via fieldbus
  • Production counter with shift logging
  • Multi-language display (English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, Korean)

Structural Characteristics:

  • Main unit: PA66-GF30, 120 x 80 x 45 mm
  • EIP module: Additional 60 x 40 x 25 mm box, DIN rail mount
  • Combined display: 4-digit LED + EIP status LEDs (8 total)
  • M12 8-pin (screwdriver) + M12 12-pin (EIP) connectors

Material Composition:

  • Main housing: PA66-GF30
  • EIP housing: Polycarbonate (PC), UV-stabilized
  • Connectors: M12, IP67-rated, gold-plated
  • PCB: FR-4, conformal coated, EIP module has additional EMC shielding

Working Principle:
Torque and angle are sampled identically to TC52S. The EIP module acts as a gateway — it reads all controller data and makes it available on the selected fieldbus protocol. The PLC can read live torque/angle values, send new setpoints, and log results to a central database.

Key Advantages:

  • Full Industry 4.0 readiness — connects directly to factory automation networks
  • 8 digital I/O eliminates need for external I/O modules
  • Remote diagnostics reduce downtime
  • Multi-step tightening with live data feedback to PLC

Applicable Industries:
Automotive OEM and Tier 1, Aerospace, Medical device (Class II/III), Semiconductor equipment assembly, Smart factory environments

Installation Requirements:

  • DIN rail mount both main unit and EIP module (total width: ~200 mm)
  • 24 V DC, minimum 3 A (EIP draws additional current)
  • M12 8-pin to screwdriver (max. 3 m)
  • M12 12-pin to EIP I/O breakout (max. 5 m)
  • Ethernet cable (Cat5e or higher) to PLC/switch (max. 100 m)
  • Shielded cable mandatory within 1 m of VFD or welder

Usage Precautions:

  • Configure EIP communication parameters in Atlas Copco Connect software before connecting to PLC
  • Assign unique node addresses on fieldbus to avoid conflicts
  • Update EIP firmware separately from main controller firmware
  • Ground EIP module chassis to panel PE
