Atlas Copco TC4000-P-ES
Product Introduction:
The TC4000-P-ES is a two-stage, electric-driven towable compressor delivering 4,000 CFM. The “P” denotes two-stage compression for lower discharge temperatures, and “ES” denotes electric drive. This is the standard high-performance configuration of the TC-4000 series for applications requiring cool, dry, high-volume compressed air with electric power available.

Material Composition:
- Frame: Hot-dip galvanized welded steel
- Air End: Cast iron two-stage rotary screw — precision-ground rotors
- Tank: ASME / PED certified carbon steel — 500-liter capacity
- Aftercooler: Aluminum plate-fin — air-cooled
- Motor: IE3 premium efficiency electric motor with VFD
Structural Characteristics:
- Tandem-axle trailer with air brakes and road lighting
- Forklift pockets on all four sides
- Central control cabinet with HMI touchscreen interface
- Anti-vibration mounts between motor and frame
Working Principle:
Electric motor drives a two-stage rotary screw air end via a direct-coupled or belt-driven arrangement. Air is compressed in the first stage, cooled in an intercooler, then compressed in the second stage to final pressure. The two-stage process reduces discharge temperature and improves volumetric efficiency. Compressed air passes through an aftercooler and moisture separator before delivery.
Advantage Highlights:
- Lowest discharge temperature in the TC-4000 family — protects pneumatic tools and processes
- VFD option reduces energy consumption by up to 35% at partial load
- Electric drive provides precise pressure control and fast response to demand changes
- Two-stage design extends air end life due to lower thermal stress per stage
Applicable Industries:
Manufacturing plants, paint shops, food and beverage, pharmaceutical, automotive assembly, large-scale construction, shipbuilding
Model Series: TC-4000 Series — Towable Compressors (4,000 CFM class) — Electric Two-Stage
Installation Requirements:
- 400V/480V 3-phase supply with minimum 500A capacity
- VFD variant requires clean power supply — install line reactor if harmonics exceed 5% THD
- Level ground; minimum 3-meter clearance on all sides
Usage Precautions:
- Do not operate below 25% load for extended periods — risk of oil carryover
- Clean aftercooler fins bi-weekly in dusty environments
- Check and replace air/oil separator every 8,000 hours
- Verify VFD parameters match motor nameplate before commissioning
