Atlas Copco TC-4000-P-PB-ES

Product Introduction:
The TC-4000-P-PB-ES is a two-stage, electric-driven towable compressor housed in a full protective (PB) canopy. The “PB” designation indicates a weather-protected, sound-attenuated enclosure that shields all components from rain, dust, wind, and debris. This configuration is intended for outdoor deployment in harsh environmental conditions where open-frame units would suffer accelerated wear.

Detailed content

Technical Specifications:

  • Free Air Delivery (FAD): 4,000 CFM (113.3 m³/min) at 100 PSI (7 bar)
  • Maximum Working Pressure: 175 PSI (12 bar)
  • Drive Type: Electric Motor — 315 kW (422 HP)
  • Power Supply: 400V / 50Hz / 3-phase (or 480V / 60Hz / 3-phase)
  • Compression Stages: Two-Stage (P)
  • Operating Weight: Approximately 7,500 kg (16,535 lbs)
  • Dimensions (L × W × H): Approximately 6,000 × 2,400 × 2,600 mm (including canopy)
  • Noise Level: 92 dB(A) at 7 meters (PB canopy reduces noise by 10–12 dB vs. open frame)

Functional Features:

  • Protected Chassis (PB): Full steel canopy with weather sealing, acoustic insulation, and security locks
  • Two-Stage Compression (P): Cool discharge air — approximately 95°C (203°F)
  • Electric Drive (ES): Zero emissions, low maintenance
  • Enhanced Filtration: PB enclosure allows use of higher-grade intake filters without risk of water ingress

Performance Parameters:

Parameter Value
FAD @ 100 PSI 4,000 CFM (113.3 m³/min)
FAD @ 40 PSI 4,800 CFM (136.0 m³/min)
Max Pressure 175 PSI (12 bar)
Motor Power 315 kW (422 HP)
Compression Stages 2 (Two-Stage)
Discharge Temperature Approximately 95°C (203°F)
Noise Level (with PB) 92 dB(A) at 7 meters
Duty Cycle 100% continuous

Material Composition:

  • Frame: Hot-dip galvanized structural steel
  • Canopy (PB): 1.5 mm galvanized steel with 50 mm acoustic insulation (rock wool)
  • Air End: Cast iron two-stage rotary screw
  • Tank: ASME / PED certified carbon steel — 500-liter capacity
  • Aftercooler: Aluminum plate-fin — mounted inside PB enclosure

Structural Characteristics:

  • Tandem-axle trailer with full PB canopy covering entire unit
  • Air intake and exhaust routed through canopy with weather baffles
  • Lockable access doors on both sides for maintenance
  • Integrated lighting inside canopy for nighttime service

Working Principle:
Identical to TC-4000-P-ES in compression process. The PB canopy creates a controlled micro-environment: intake air is drawn through elevated, weather-protected filters; compressed air is cooled inside the enclosure; discharge air exits through a weather-sealed outlet. The enclosure protects all components from direct rain, UV exposure, and particulate ingress.

Advantage Highlights:

  • Extended component life in outdoor/harsh environments — reduces maintenance cost by 30–40%
  • 10–12 dB noise reduction improves compliance with occupational noise regulations
  • Weather protection allows year-round outdoor storage without degradation
  • Higher-grade filtration possible due to protected intake — improves air quality

Applicable Industries:
Outdoor construction, mining, quarrying, pipeline work, military field operations, events, remote industrial sites

Model Series: TC-4000 Series — Towable Compressors (4,000 CFM class) — Protected Variant

Installation Requirements:

  • 400V/480V 3-phase supply — minimum 500A
  • Level, compacted ground — PB canopy adds approximately 500 kg to operating weight
  • Ensure canopy ventilation panels are not obstructed — minimum 0.5-meter clearance at intake and exhaust

Usage Precautions:

  • Do not seal canopy completely — ventilation is required for cooling
  • Inspect canopy weather seals quarterly; replace if cracked or compressed
  • Clean intake filters weekly in dusty outdoor environments
  • PB canopy interior temperature can exceed ambient by 10°C — monitor motor temperature in hot climates
