Atlas Copco TC-4000-P-CC-ES
Product Introduction:
The TC-4000-P-CC-ES is a two-stage, electric-driven towable compressor featuring condenser (CC) cooling. The “CC” designation indicates a condenser-cooled aftercooler system (as opposed to the standard air-cooled configuration), providing superior heat rejection in high ambient temperature environments. This unit delivers 4,000 CFM with the coolest possible discharge air temperature for maximum tool protection and process quality.

- Condenser (CC): Copper/aluminum heat exchanger with finned tubes
- Coolant Pump: Stainless steel centrifugal pump — 1.5 kW
- Dry Cooler (Optional): Aluminum radiator with axial fan
Structural Characteristics:
- Tandem-axle trailer with integrated coolant reservoir and pump housing
- Condenser mounted at rear of trailer with dedicated airflow path
- Dry cooler option adds roof-mounted radiator with fan
- Full service platform with coolant fill, drain, and temperature gauge access
Working Principle:
Electric motor drives a two-stage rotary screw air end. Compressed air exits the second stage at approximately 95°C (203°F) and enters the condenser-cooled aftercooler. The condenser uses a closed-loop water circuit (or dry cooler) to reject heat, cooling the compressed air to below 40°C (104°F) before it reaches the moisture separator and delivery point. The condenser provides 3–5× the heat rejection capacity of an air-cooled aftercooler.
Advantage Highlights:
- Lowest discharge air temperature available in the TC-4000 family — essential for paint shops, food processing, and pharmaceutical applications
- Condenser cooling maintains performance in ambient temperatures up to 45°C (113°F) without derating
- Closed-loop system requires no continuous water supply — operates in water-scarce environments
- Two-stage + condenser = maximum air quality and tool protection
Applicable Industries:
Automotive paint shops, food and beverage processing, pharmaceutical manufacturing, electronics assembly, precision instrumentation, chemical processing, any application requiring ISO 8573-1 Class 1 or 2 air quality
Model Series: TC-4000 Series — Towable Compressors (4,000 CFM class) — Condenser-Cooled
Installation Requirements:
- 400V/480V 3-phase supply — minimum 500A
- Condenser requires 2-meter clearance at rear for airflow (dry cooler) or water connection (wet cooler)
- Closed-loop system must be filled with approved coolant (typically ethylene glycol 30% solution) before first startup
- Level ground capable of supporting 7,300 kg
Usage Precautions:
- Check coolant level and concentration weekly — maintain 30% ethylene glycol solution
- Clean condenser fins monthly; flush coolant circuit every 2,000 hours
- Do not operate condenser pump dry — will cause seal failure
- In freezing climates, drain coolant circuit or use antifreeze to 50% concentration
- Condenser adds approximately 300 kg vs. air-cooled variant — verify trailer axle rating
