  • LCD display: 8-digit, 7-segment, yellow-green backlight
  • DIP switches for CT ratio and communication address
  • Optical isolation on pulse output and digital inputs

Working Principle:
Voltage is measured via a resistive divider network scaled to the metering IC input range. Current is measured via an external CT (5 A secondary) feeding a burden resistor connected to the metering IC. The ADE7753 performs true RMS calculation, active/reactive power computation, and energy accumulation using a 24-bit sigma-delta ADC at 900 kSPS. Data is transmitted via Modbus RTU and energy pulses are generated via an optocoupler-driven open-collector output (1000 imp/kWh).

Key Advantages:

  • ± 0.5% energy accuracy for billing-grade metering
  • Self-powered (no auxiliary supply needed for 230 V AC versions)
  • Pulse output compatible with all standard energy management systems
  • DIP-switch configurable CT ratio and Modbus address

Applicable Industries:
Sub-metering in commercial buildings, tenant billing, solar PV monitoring, EV charging stations, small industrial loads.

Installation Requirements:

  • Mount on 35 mm DIN rail
  • Connect CT around LINE conductor only (not around both L and N together)
  • Set DIP switches for CT ratio (e.g., 100/5, 200/5, 400/5)
  • Terminate RS-485 bus with 120 Ω at last device

Usage Precautions:

  • Never open-circuit CT secondary while primary is energized (danger: high voltage)
  • Verify CT polarity (P1/P2, S1/S2) before connecting
  • Set Modbus address to unique value on each bus segment
  • For 63 A applications, use CT with 5 A secondary (do not connect direct)
