Working Principle:
AC mains power enters the module and is rectified to DC. A high-frequency PWM converter (operating at 100 kHz) steps down and regulates the voltage to 5V DC for the PLC backplane and 24V DC for auxiliary loads. The PFC stage ensures high power factor and low harmonic distortion. Output voltage is continuously monitored by a feedback control loop. In redundancy mode, two ASP890300 modules share the load equally via the backplane communication. If one module fails, the other takes full load within 20 ms, preventing PLC shutdown.

Advantages & Highlights:

  • Universal Input: 85V–264V AC — works worldwide without reconfiguration
  • High Efficiency: 88% efficiency reduces heat generation and energy cost
  • Redundancy Ready: N+1 hot-swap for zero-downtime maintenance
  • Dual Output: 5V + 24V from single module simplifies wiring
  • Robust Protection: Overcurrent, overvoltage, short-circuit, overtemperature

Applicable Industries:

  • Oil and gas (safety-critical systems)
  • Power generation and distribution
  • Water and wastewater (SCADA systems)
  • Chemical and pharmaceutical (batch control)
  • Mining (remote sites with unstable power)
  • Any application requiring redundant power

Installation Requirements:

  • Install in leftmost slot of Quantum chassis (or redundancy pair slots)
  • Connect AC mains via dedicated circuit breaker (6A minimum at 110V, 3A at 230V)
  • Connect DC output via backplane (no external wiring for 5V)
  • For 24V auxiliary load, use dedicated terminals on module front panel
  • Ensure adequate ventilation — minimum 50 mm clearance above and below
  • Ground chassis to protective earth (PE)

Usage Precautions:

  • Do not block fan intake or exhaust
  • Replace fan after 50,000 hours or if noise increases
  • Do not exceed 10A on 5V output or 2A on 24V output
  • Use dedicated AC circuit — do not share with motors or welders
  • Verify redundancy pairing before enabling redundancy mode
