  • Backplane bus connector for controller communication
  • Spring-clamp terminals for fast wiring

Working Principle:
Analog inputs are simultaneously sampled by the ADS8688 ADC (16-bit, 1 kHz) via a multiplexed front-end with precision op-amp buffer (OPA2277). The digital data is transmitted over the backplane bus. Analog outputs are generated by the DAC8568 (16-bit quad DAC). For 4–20 mA output, a voltage-to-current converter (XTR116 or equivalent) converts the DAC voltage to a proportional current. All channels are optically isolated from the bus using Si864x isolators (5 kV).

Key Advantages:

  • Simultaneous sampling (1 kHz) for all 4 input channels — no skew
  • 16-bit resolution (± 0.2% FS) for high-precision applications
  • Flexible configuration (0–10 V or 4–20 mA per channel via DIP switch)
  • Fully isolated channels prevent cross-talk and ground loops

Applicable Industries:
Process control, water treatment, chemical dosing, HVAC, building automation, test & measurement.

Installation Requirements:

  • Mount on 35 mm DIN rail
  • Use shielded twisted-pair cable for 4–20 mA signals
  • Set DIP switches for correct range before connecting sensors/actuators
  • Ground cable shields at one end only

Usage Precautions:

  • Do not apply voltage > 12 V DC to 0–10 V input range
  • For 4–20 mA output, ensure load resistance does not exceed 500 Ω (for 24 V supply)
  • Do not short-circuit 4–20 mA output (can damage DAC)
  • Calibrate zero and span annually using precision calibrator
