AEG ARG 120-166-305
Product Introduction:
The AEG ARG 120-166-305 is a direct-acting gas pressure regulator designed for natural gas and LPG distribution in residential and commercial heating systems. It reduces inlet gas pressure to a stable, constant outlet pressure regardless of inlet fluctuations.
Model Series: ARG Series (Gas Regulators)
Detailed content
Technical Specifications:
- Inlet Pressure (P1): 120 mbar (12 mbar nominal, range 5–50 mbar)
- Outlet Pressure (P2): 166 mbar (fixed regulated output)
- Connection Size: G 3/4″ (DN20) threaded — code 305
- Flow Capacity (Qmax): 10 kg/h (natural gas, G20)
- Max Inlet Pressure: 50 mbar (5 kPa)
- Operating Temperature: -10°C to +60°C
- Gas Type: Natural Gas (G20), LPG (G31)
- Seat Material: NBR (Nitrile Butadiene Rubber)
- Diaphragm Material: Reinforced synthetic rubber
- Housing Material: Zinc die-cast alloy with epoxy powder coating
Functional Features:
- Self-regulating — maintains constant 166 mbar outlet pressure
- Integral overpressure safety shut-off
- Zero-maintenance design with no moving parts requiring lubrication
- Compact footprint for installation in confined boiler compartments
Working Principle:
Inlet gas pressure acts on a diaphragm assembly opposed by a calibrated spring. The spring force sets the outlet pressure at 166 mbar. When outlet pressure rises above setpoint, the diaphragm lifts the valve seat, reducing flow. When outlet pressure drops, the spring pushes the diaphragm down, opening the valve. This feedback loop maintains constant downstream pressure.
Advantages & Highlights:
- No electricity required — purely mechanical regulation
- Stable output across full inlet pressure range
- Compliant with EN 16129 (gas regulators for appliances)
- Integrated filter screen at inlet (mesh 200 µm)
Applicable Industries:
- Residential gas boiler installations
- Commercial water heaters
- Gas cooktop supply lines
- Small industrial gas appliances
Installation Requirements:
- Install upright with diaphragm housing facing upward
- Minimum 300 mm clearance above valve for maintenance access
- Connect using sealed thread joint compound (PTFE tape or anaerobic sealant)
- Install upstream isolating valve and downstream pressure gauge
Usage Precautions:
- Verify gas type compatibility before installation (G20 vs G31)
- Do not modify spring tension or diaphragm assembly
- Perform leak test with soap solution after every connection
- Replace diaphragm every 5 years as preventive maintenance
