ABB BT50-LCZ56T-195

Product Name
ABB Jokab Safety BT50-series safety relay or expansion relay. Public technical data for the exact suffix LCZ56T-195 is not located; the specifications below describe the verified BT50 base platform and must be confirmed against the ABB ordering code and nameplate.
Product Introduction
The BT50 is a compact safety relay designed to connect emergency-stop devices, safety interlocks and other protective inputs directly in the control voltage circuit. It expands safe outputs for machinery stopping functions and can be used with Pluto safety controllers or higher-level safety relays.

Detailed content

Technical Specifications
Operational voltage 24 V DC with approximately +15% / -25% tolerance, power consumption about 1.4 to 1.8 W, three normally-open safety outputs plus one normally-closed monitoring output, maximum switching capacity 6 A at 250 V AC or 6 A at 24 V DC depending load type, contact material silver with gold flash, 35 mm DIN-rail mounting, enclosure protection IP40 and terminal protection IP20, operating temperature -10 to 55°C, humidity 35 to 85% non-condensing.
Functional Features
Redundant and internally supervised safety circuit, test and reset input, emergency-stop and interlock logic, optional delayed outputs on BT50T variants, LED indicators for supply, relay state and fault, Cat 4 / PL e according to EN ISO 13849-1, SIL 3 according to IEC 62061.
Application Scenarios
Emergency-stop circuits, guarded-door interlocks, safety output expansion for Pluto controllers, conveyor stop systems, press and robotic cell protective stops, machinery requiring redundant contact disconnection.
Performance Parameters
Response time dependent on input filtering and version, 24 V DC control supply, 6 A per output contact under specified AC/DC load, 22.5 mm housing width, weight approximately 200 g, impulse withstand 2.5 kV.
Material Composition
Molded thermoplastic housing, silver-gold alloy relay contacts, copper terminal screws and clamping elements, steel DIN-rail clip, printed circuit board with conformal industrial coating where specified.
Structural Characteristics
Slim DIN-rail enclosure, removable screw terminals, front test/reset accessibility, LED status row, internal redundant relay elements, separated safety output groups.
Working Principle
When supply is applied and the safety input chain is closed, the internal redundant relays energize and close the safety outputs. If an emergency-stop, interlock or internal fault opens the safety circuit, the relays de-energize and the normally-open safety contacts disconnect machine power. The test input verifies that external contactors or valves have dropped before a restart is permitted.
Installation Requirements
Mount on 35 mm DIN rail inside a suitable control cabinet. Connect A1 and A2 to 24 V DC with correct polarity. Use screened cable where higher safety integrity is required. Wire emergency-stop contacts to the designated safety input. Torque terminals according to ABB documentation, typically up to 1 Nm for screw types.
Usage Precautions
Do not apply AC mains directly to safety output contacts. Verify Cat 4 / PL e validation with the complete input device, wiring and contactor combination. Perform regular functional emergency-stop testing. Replace the unit if LED fault indicators show internal supervision errors. Confirm the LCZ56T-195 suffix with ABB before procurement because option codes affect input type, delay and connector configuration.
